Suitable for monitoring safety gates in industrial and harsh environments

The latest family of MC88C safety magnetic sensors together with the MC36C magnetic actuator can provide an effective monitoring and protection solution for safety gates; when connected to a safety module these sensors meet the requirements of PLe/Category 4 according to EN ISO 13849-1 for stopping or disconnecting dangerous machine movements.

The sensor is particularly suited to applications where dust and dirt can influence the sensing distance and offers a customizable solution as the sensors are available with left or right exit, integrated cable, M8 or pigtail with M12 connector and optional LED indicator.  Available output as 2 normally open, 1 normally open + 1 normally closed or 2 normally open and 1 normally closed contacts (with open guard) and by selecting one of the three actuators it is possible to change the switching distance between 5, 8, and 18 mm, whilst an assured switching distance (Sao) of 5 mm, assured switch-off distance (Sar) of 15 mm (with actuator MC88CM3) can also be achieved.

The 88 x 25 x 13 mm rectangular housing is manufactured in a sealed reinforced red polymeric casing (PBT) and provides protection degree IP67 and an operating temperature range from -25°C to +80°C.

Thanks to their wide actuation range MC88C sensors are the perfect solution in applications where a precise approach is not possible and greater tolerances are required.  Suitable for applications such as monitoring gates in safety fences, for covers, lids and roll up doors and for position detection and where installation space is minimal.
